Why Do I Need Implants?
1
DIFFICULTY CHEWING DUE TO MISSING TEETH?
Single implants or implant bridges make it easier to once again enjoy the foods you love, like steak and corn on the cob. They can even replace partial dentures if you're tired of the hassle of taking them in and out or if they're causing irritation to your gums.
2
LOOSE OR ILL-FITTING DENTURES?
Implant dentures are a great option for people that are worried about their dentures falling out when they are eating or even talking. Some implant dentures snap in and out and others are permanent so you do not have to take them out every night.
3
EMBARRASSED TO SMILE?
Sometimes missing teeth can cause issues with your self esteem or cause you to avoid social situations and celebrations. Implants are great confidence builders and can seamlessly match your existing teeth so no one would ever know you were missing any teeth.

What Is The Implant Process?
There are some instances where an implant can be placed at the time of the tooth extraction.
In other cases, the patient needs a bone graft and has to wait 3-4 months for the graft to integrate. After the integration the implant can then be surgically placed. After the implant is placed there is another 3-4 month healing period where the implant integrates with the patient's bone.
Once the implant is stable the doctor can then restore the implant with an abutment (the piece that attaches the implant to the crown) and crown. The doctor will take a scan or impression of the implant and the lab or a mill in the office will create the new tooth.

Depending on if a lab is making the crown or the office, it may take an additional 2-3 weeks before the final crown is inserted.
Since the process can take up to a year, some patients request a temporary denture. These partial dentures are removable and usually are not covered by insurance as they are only temporary.
The factors that go into implant pricing would be the cost of any extractions (tooth removal), grafts (preparation for implant), implants and crowns vs dentures.

For single tooth implants from start to finish the cost is approximately $5,000. An upper or lower implant denture costs between $10,000 and $50,000 depending on how many implants are used and if the denture is removable or permanent.

Most insurance plans do not cover implants but when they do they only cover about $1,000 depending on the plan's maximum.
